I am also having problems with nvidia drivers GeForce 9200M GS on a Samsung R510 laptop. When load the recomended certified drivers - 186.81_notebook_win7_winvista_64bit_international_whql and restart the machine it constantly restarts and then goes to

This was dowloaded with the system update yet the error code means its not compatable or older then the VGA driver there.

I had the same problem on 8400M GS.
I installed Nvidia Driver Version 186.03 and everything works fine now.
I have a similar problem. I have an NVIDIA GE Force 8500 GT with the most recent driver for my Windows 7 64bit OS. The driver is 8.17.11.9562 and carries a date of 11/20/2009.
In my case I frequently get an error where the screens goes blank and then it comes back and the OS says that the drivers had froze and were successfully restarted. I had the same problem with the earlier driver.
If You have a Nvidia on board chipset,there is a newer driver dated 11-26. I am currently up to date and the driver for my 8400GS video card is 8.17.11 11-20-09 the 8 series chipset driver is 195.62 11-26-09
I have been having an NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Display Driver Stopped Responding but has recovered - message off and on for weeks.
When this would typically happen, my monitor would shut off. I checked, read, email, asked questions for weeks almost endlessly and really got no
solid answers. Along the way, I changed drivers, old newer -- still, every so often this would happen again - and Black screen, Monitor off, turn back
I did read on Forum message -- I tried this, you can too -- and for the most part it took care of my issues not completely but better then before, much better.
There is a catch -- you loose all the nice Win 7 animations and enhanced screen quality -- it reverts your desktop appearance and function back to what seems like Win 98 by appearance. Try it if you want --might help..
-right click Computer my computer icon
-on the left, select advanced systems settings Options
- when this window opens - get under the advanced Tab at the top - Under Performance heading - select settings
-now dot tab mark the Adjust for best performance tab this will remove all the updated visual enhanced I spoke of
-go to the bottom of this list - and then re-select the 3rd, 4th 5th tabs from the bottom - these are needed. And for the most part fixed or helped to fix my issue.
NOTE- you can go back into this and RE-ADD other options one a time, till issues arise again I did but I really only have 4 selected now - things work PRETTY good.
I have a NVidia 8500 GT and after update I had the same problems until last night. I have found two possible fixes that both worked for me..
1 Change the resolution on your settings to a lower one. My new settings chosen by the NVidia card were too high and the signal kept being lost to the monitor. NVidia chose 1440x900 so I chose 1280x768 and now it works fine.
2 Also what seems to work fine for me if you dont like the first fix is go to the NVidia site and choose an older driver. I chose one from July 2009 and again now my NVidia settings are all working just fine.

After facing the same problem and finding no proper solution on different forums i have come up with a solution. It really worked for me. I found that this is not not not not. . a problem with drivers. It is hardware failure. Which is due to
a design failure. In fact the fan throws heat directly on the capacitors which burst atleast in my case this was so. I replaced the caps and my card worked fine. Though i recommend to replace the faulty caps but you know it takes some technical skill to
do so as it involves soldering. If you are not experienced let somebody do it for you.

i have a similar problem here except this happens to me very rarely, i have windows 7 professional 64-bit, gtx 560 ti and i have the latest drivers which would be 296.10 including beta drivers, and this is a custom built computer. like i said it happens
to me very rarely but it bothers me, this first time it happens there were red dashs all over my screen and the computer was completely frozen so i had to push the restart button, and restart the computer. the second time it happened it was the exact same
as the first time, computer was completely frozen and could not move so i had to restart it, the third time was different, same thing happened to me but the 296.10 driver that i have recently installed did not shutdown the computer but instead it recovered
the problem and everything was fine afterwards, if anybody has got some advice that would be very great.
